Our production staff utilise their professional and technical expertise to direct and assist our seed growers in ensuring every step is carefully planned and executed in order to deliver the required result. Our Seedmark team consisting of unrivalled production personnel and seed growers, coupled with the marketing expertise in both the domestic and international marketplaces, makes us the perfect partner for the production, sale and distribution of new seed varieties.
For over four decades now Seedmark has been in the business of seed commercialisation. Our well recognised track record in this important area of product development work, means that we are consistently chosen by many Research and Development organisations to produce, market and distribute their own new varieties. These are commercialisation partnerships to which we bring our vast, professional and committed grower resource base, our global market reach, and an enviable reputation for quality and worldwide logistics expertise.
Seedmark's professional, dedicated and full time grower team is among the best and the largest in the world, with many of them also being shareholders in our company.
The South-East of South Australia is our primary pasture seed production area due to the inherent seed production advantages that the region offers. With a Mediterranean climate, access to irrigation water and suitable soil types, the South-East has a distinct seed commercialisation advantage in the growth of high quality, reliable and cost competitive seed. Other areas where Seedmark have significant pasture production capabilities include the Mid North of South Australia, Western Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania. This geographical spread delivers to our customers the added reliability of supply.
When focussing on Field Crop, production is spread across all states where seed is also marketed and sold, allowing for logistical ease, maximising supply and minimising time to market. Seedmark has an excellent group of “year on year” production growers in all areas that consistently deliver high quality seed in order to meet the expectations of our business.
Across these many differing production zones, Seedmark currently produce in excess of 90 individual proprietary varieties and over 40 common varieties.
Our Global Market Reach
It is a statement of the obvious that maximum commercialisation success can only be achieved with potent marketing expertise and global sales reach, that is what Seedmark delivers.
We have been in the business of seed research and development, production, commercialisation, distribution and marketing for over 45 years, a long period of time during which we have continued to refine the processes involved in making our activities highly effective.
We now interact successfully with distributors, traders and brokers in more than 70 countries around the globe, which coupled with our market leading domestic capability in taking our products and importantly their performance to the reseller and end customer, makes Seedmark an industry leader. It is these and other deliverables that gives any seed commercialisation product an unparalleled global exposure that is powerfully backed by our skilled sales and marketing team and global network.
At Seedmark, quality is a production and distribution commitment, not just a convenient marketing cliché.
It is something that both our domestic and international seed customers know is an integral part of the Seedmark brand. That's why for us, quality is something we rigorously focus on at each step of the product development process. From planting the highest quality stock seed to superior grower crop management, from modern harvesting and cleaning techniques to highly controlled and market leading packaging, storing and distribution, everything we do is underscored by the Seedmark commitment to quality.
It is well known that effective logistics is one of the prime contributors to any seed business' long term success. As timing becomes more critical, OH&S and government regulations increase, and weather conditions become more uncertain, we know that superior supply chain management becomes an ever increasing imperative.
Accordingly, Seedmark continues to critically review its own logistics procedures and regularly makes appropriate changes. Continued focus and investment in information technology has allowed greater control over all facets of product handling and distribution. Our dedicated staff in both the operations and customer service areas are responsive to our customers' needs and get product moving with maximum speed, efficiency and reliability.
Great logistics is also about experience. At Seedmark our 45 plus years of worldwide shipping and our intimate understating of, and compliance with, a vast range of differing national and international import/state regulations really does set us apart from our competition.
